The "first final draft" typewritten manuscript. Published in 1991 by Diamond Books, and quite hard to find. 394 pages, plus four pages of the original ending not published. Contains handwritten corrections in ball-point pen, felt-tip pen, and some typewritten passages pasted onto the pages.
Inscription by the author describes the contents. He mentions that Berkley made him cut the word count; is Diamond Books an imprint of Berkley, or is he referring to the reprint?
The pages are of varying stock, and slightly different color. I presume he used whatever was at hand.
